Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American photographer and journalist who has been covering the natural and military disasters of over 45 years, focuses on the suffering of people who live in these places. Curry was a reporter for wars from Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Curry was often on the move along with her companion, and did not attend a school for longer than two or three years. Her school was located in San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Ashland was her last high school. As an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregan, she began her journey as a broadcaster. She was the first female journalist for the station when she was just 22. Following that, she went into the role of anchor and reporter at KGW, an NBC affiliate station located in Portland. After four years she moved to Los Angeles and became a journalist at KCBS TV. She won the award of two Emmy Awards during the six years with the station.
